The EMS Personnel Responsibilities protocol establishes the need for all EMS personnel to have a GCMCA-issued picture ID badge, and requires that you wear the badge and that it is easily visible at all times while actively working in the EMS system. Before a badge is issued the following must be completed:

- Complete an online protocol test through American CME
- Provide verification of the following:
  - State-issued EMS License
  - CPR Card (American Heart Association or American Red Cross only)
  - Currency in ACLS (paramedic only - American Heart Association or American Red Cross only)
  - Valid Driver's License'
  - Trauma and Pediatric Certifications (see EMS Personnel Responsibilities for acceptable certifications
